Others were eager to pick up where the story left off, and some people just stumbled upon it. I can never go back. I started to pull the scene apart--how does the man know this? Something about My Name is Memory attracted me to it right away; perhaps it was the story of everlasting love. While not being graphic or raunchy, it goes through all the troubles and triumphs of growing up and becoming an adult.
And, of course, of love lasting for more than one lifetime. Between sex and love, friendship and prejudice, this book still gives you a feel-good feeling that makes you feel grateful for the friends that you have. I thought that I was prepared to see how the girls handled their lives as adults, and how they interacted with each other.
The book is broken into sections told in 3rd person, usually featuring the annoyingly perfect protagonist, Lucy, and sections about the past lives told via Daniel and his memory. They will reunite, and have one last ritual of the Pants.My Name Is Memory is a perfect example.
The observations about people, life and love are unexpected and real- even though the overall idea of reincarnation is not something I personally believe in.
